New Cosplay: Itachi Uchiha - Female Nurse

Hey everyone!

I'm extremely late with this post and I apologize for that! It's been insane with my finals and exams but now it's over and I have some free time!

In May I started and finished a new costume: Itachi Uchiha - Female Nurse from Naruto!

FanArt by ちゅん太郎

I saw this Fanart on Tumblr some time ago, and I thought it would make an interesting cosplay (considering I never saw anyone doing it and, as everyone knows, I love cosplaying Itachi)! I finally had my chance to do it for the con Anicomics 2013 that was held also in May!

I must warn you that I don't have many pictures. Please try to understand that I did this in 4 days and was in a rush!

I found this very light pink fabric for a cheap price. I wanted something a bit darker but it still worked pretty well for what I wanted! I didn't, however, realise it was so sheer which became a problem to me considering every bra that I owned showed through.

I later fixed the problem by sewing some of the fabric on an old white bra that I owned. It still showed a little bit, but you could barely see it.

Some progress photos of the dress

This dress was a lot of fun to do and also a lot of hard work. It seems pretty simple but it has a certain amount of detail that requires special attention, specially the collar.

I ended up adding two types of white lace and light pink ribbon on the collar to give it an extra girly and cute effect. I think it looks so much better that way!

1. Pattern | 2. The hat already cut | 3. Lace and Ribbon | 4. Almost finished!
Finished! (Apologize for the bad photo)

This was my first time doing a nurse hat! I decided to make a pattern out of paper so it could guide me. I think it worked quite well! I used interfacing to give it a more rigid form (also used on the collar!).

I also decided to add the ribbon and lace on the hat. The Uchiha symbol was made out of fake leather that was left from Madara's costume! The white part is also the same leather but painted with white acrylics (it works perfectly but you have to give it 5/6 coats).

Left: the shoes I used | Right: the miraculous savior aka spray paint
What happens when you use spray paint but don't wear gloves!

After starting this costume I noticed that Itachi isn't wearing any shoes - only socks. And I can't really walk walk around barefoot (I actually can but I prefer not to).

I had those old shoes at home from back in the days I was 13. They're a bit tight but still fit me, and since I didn't want to go over budget and buy new shoes, I decided to paint them pink!

That spray paint isn't the best choice, considering the paint started to peel off after walking around at the convention for 3 or 4 hours (I must note though, that I did photoshoots and laid on the floor several times), but it worked out pretty well! I wanted a slightly lighter pink, but this one is still good

Some photos of the finished costume!

At Anicomics 2013 I ended up doing a small photoshoot with Fiaziinha as the photographer! Most of the photos are really, really pretty! I'll start posting of DeviantArt soon! In the meantime...

You didn't thought I would leave you without photos, right? Hope you liked it

New cosplay [Itachi Uchiha - Sexy no Jutsu Summer Dress] and Photoshoot!!

Hey everyone!

I'm finally making a new post!

And I'm finally bringing you guys a new cosplay! It's Itachi Uchiha - Sexy no Jutsu Summer Dress!

This was the picture that made me want to do this cosplay.  I first saw it on Tumblr and it had no source, so I'm not sure who the artist is, but the lines look like Rauhreif's so I think it's hers (I'm a Naruto fanart collector and appreciator so I know a lot of artists by their lines).

Still, I wanted to do my own version of (lady) Itachi in a summer dress and not just copy the artwork. Here's the result!

This is the fabric I chose. At first I was going for a completely white dress with some red adornments but then I decided that a floral pattern would be much better. I'm quite happy with the choice I made! It's pure cotton if you're wondering. The total was €21 (not much and I still have some fabric left at home!)

The shoes I bought for €5 at Seaside. They weren't really white but I couldn't care less, because I thought they fitted perfectly with the dress. And they really do! I also decided on something with a small heel. Actually they have more of a wedge than anything else, but a small one.

This is the progress picture (I'm trying to save space XD). I made the bows from the same fabric as the dress and glued them to the front part of the shoes. I didn't do anything else except for that.

As for the hat, I bought a simple white hat to be the base for what I wanted to do! I didn't buy something very big because I thought it wouldn't look good. The only thing I really did with the hat was taking off the original 'flower' it had and applying the bow.

I prefered the bow because of the shoes. If the shoes had no adornments I would have used a flower instead of a bow. But once again, I'm not trying to replicate the picture, I'm just taking inspiration from it!

The basket with flowers was a last minute idea. At first I had no intention on making it but 2 days before the photoshoot I decided to make one. Just because I thought it would be a great prop!! And it turned out to be a good idea!

Here's the progress:

(sorry for the bad quality of the pictures!)

I applied molding clay on the basket so I could fixate the flowers. That was also a last minute idea! I had a bit of molding clay at home (I bought it a while ago to make a mask for a Tobi cosplay I ended up not doing,  but I may still do it this Summer or not, we'll see) Here's the final product!

(on the left is the back and on the right is the front part)

It looks a lot prettier in real life, believe me!! And the colors are so much more vibrant, I just don't feel like editing these... *lazy mode*

As for the dress, it was a chalenge to me since it was the first dress that I've ever made!

I think it came out quite well actually! I'm pretty happy with the result! *-* I may do a dress like this for myself sometime!

This last Thursday I did the photoshoot for this costume! Some time ago I invited Fiaziinha to be my Sasuke, also in a summer dress. She said yes, and I was so excited because I've always wanted to make a photoshoot with the Uchiha Brothers (sisters in this case XD).

Our photographer was Lena-chan! *-* She's such an amazing photographer!! She did my small SnJ Kakuzu photoshoot and has also taken some of my Kurapika pictures!

At first me and Fiaziinha wanted to go to Buddha Eden for this shoot, but things didn't turn out that way (basically we had no one to take us) so we ended up doing it on Expo! It's still a great place so I didn't mind!

Our scenery! Sorry for the crappy photo but this was taken at the end of the shoot so we were kind of in a hurry to get the hell out of there XD

We took a total of 250 pictures, and this might have been the shoot with the biggest amount of pictures taken that I've ever made! And our costumes weren't even big or hard to make...

I don't want to show lots of pics from the shoot and make this post even bigger than what it is already (giant ass post!), but I can show you some!

Lady Itachi being mean to her younger sister, Sasuko. And looking like a duck on crack at the same time! XD

Mustache time!!

And fuck yooou
Yup I just said 'fuck' in my blog.

The red ribbow got loose during the photoshoot so Sasuko is helping Lady Itachi to get it tied up again. Which ended up being Lena-chan to tie the knot because Sasuko couldn't do it right -/.\-
And she even asked Lady Itachi to be in that position which killed me.

This has to be the best picture of the entire shoot. Like... it's so perfect XD
And a big f*ck-yooooou~

Just a cute moment

Us!~ <3

And this is all guys! For now at least. I will try to post pictures soon!

Anicomics 2012

Hey everyone!

FINALLY a new post.

Yes, I know. I've been lagging and I have no excuse this time. I'm just very lazy at the moment. A lot of stuff has been going on in my life and I'm exausted both emotionally and fisically. I apologise.

As a matter of fact I believe this post is going to be small (because once again I'm very lazy and I barely have a picture to show you guys).

Anicomics Lx 2012 occured during the 5th and 6th of May. It's one of the biggest cons we've had here in Portugal so far. This year was the 3rd edition and I have to say it was absolutely amazing.

And when I say amazing, I really mean AMAZING!

I've been going to this con since the 1st edition and every year it's better than the last. I want to congratulate Mário Freitas for the wonderful organization and awesome time Anicomics provided me and my friends! Thank you so much and amazing job!!

Yes, I really can't wait for next year X3

Just for the lols, here's a picture of me and my partner in crime Jo, on the 1st edition of Anicomics (2010):

Anyway...

As for cosplays, I went with a new one: Itachi Uchiha - Mafia version!

I actually kind of regret going with that outfit. It was WAY too hot both days to walk around in a black suit -.- (but I'm an idiot) I sort of suffered a little everytime I was outside.

About this outfit, it was a last minute idea. I currently have no new outfits, even though I'm working in a few surprises.

Itachi Uchiha - Angels of Revolution was out of question because the place is too small, Ion Fortuna I just wore on the last con and Kurapika was a no-no because last Anicomics I went with that outfit. All the other costumes were either too hot or not available at the moment.

And no way I would go as Sexy no Jutsu Kakuzu, that's just a lot of work (all the stitching, geez XD).

Thank you Eternal4everfriends for the picture!! <3

I was a bit sad because the version I wanted to cosplay is from a fanart I really love (and I love the artist as well), but I didn't have a red suit or time to make one. So I just wore the black suit I used for Deidara - Mafia since I won't use that cosplay anymore (I will do the grey suit version from the same fanart, it's so much prettier).

Now, what I bought:

And that's all, I think...

I just want to say that everyone was amazing, I saw stunning costumes! *-* Also, congratulations to the cosplay competition's winners!!

I will make a new post sometime soon talking about my next costumes and also make a balance of the year so far. You can also always check the side bar (on the left) with the cons/events I'll be attending this year and also my cosplay list for 2012. I'm always updating it.

I have recently created a blog where I post my daily outfits, clothing/acessories and non-related cosplay stuff I make. It doesn't have many things so far, but I'll be updating it more in the next weeks. It's called TheGothica

 Please visit it!

Iberanime Lx 2012

Hey everyone!

I was going to do this a couple days ago, but I've been waiting for pictures the entire week. And since no one gave me the damn con pictures, I'm gonna do this post how I can. So apologise right away for the lack of images.

Anyway... I had so much fun at this con! It was great to spend some quality time with my friends and, of course, cosplay!

DAY 1 - 17th March 2012 - Itachi: Angels of Revolution (Naruto)
Ah... I woke up late that day. Again. I've been waking up for cons at late hours, but I can only blame that on school (it makes me so tired).

At 12:30 p.m I was eating and almost entirely dressed. I only arrived there at about 2 p.m though >.<

This year, Iberanime Lx was held in LX Factory in Alcântara (Lisbon). I think the place was a bit small, to be honest (specially compared to last year's). And I had absolutely no idea where it was! Fortunately this time the GPS helped (it usually doesn't) and we didn't get lost.

I decided to wear Itachi - Angels of Revolution this day because many of my friends asked me to. It ended up being a huge mistake! People kept bumping into my wings and I could barelly walk around without getting stuck somewhere (again, the place was smaller than what I thought it would be).

I promise new pictures of this costume soon!! And when I say soon, I really mean SOON (like this week). I would post a picture of the photoshoot I did for this costume, but then I would spoil all the fun. And I don't want to.

I had a picture my girlfriend found on Facebook, but I have no idea where I put it. So I won't show it either.

DAY 2 - 18th March 2012 - Ion Fortuna (Trinity Blood)
I woke up late, but at least I arrived earlier than the previous day!

I went as Ion Fortuna this day. I absolutely love this costume! <3 It was made by Lenore-Eeva-Leena, one of my cosplay idols!! *-*

Me and NightmanEXE (as Kurapika) at Iberanime Lx 2012

I spent the day with my girlfriend, my friend Ana and some other friends. I had a blast this day X3 Even more than the day before.

Photos of Ion Fortuna only in the end of the year. Sorry :(

Congratulations to the winners of Iberanime's Group cosplay competition and also for the finalists of CWM KonCookie and Nadia Baiardi!

I bought more things at the con then I was planning to... but I guess I won't be spending money for a while now, so it's fine (though I'm saving for SnJ Kisame's wig).

Yes, I really like to buy Naruto related things XD

And that's all for now... I'm also planning on doing a new post still this week, talking about some cosplay plans. I don't know which day, maybe Thursday or Friday (since I'm vacation I have more time).

Angels of Revolution Project (1st - Itachi Uchiha) + Updates

Hey everyone!

*sigh* I have so many things to talk about I don't even know where to start (it's the consequence for not updating the blog for almost two months -.-).

I guess I'll talk about the most important thing first: some time ago I started a new cosplay!

Ever since all the Akatsuki appeared on Naruto that I've been wanting to make original versions of them. There are many I want to do (for example one inspired by the 7 Deadly Sins) but I never had the courage to because it would take a lot of work, time and money. Besides they're 10.

BUT about 2 months ago, me and my friend Carolina were talking and I had this idea for a new original version of them in which each character would represent something they would fight for. She gained interest in it and offered to draw the costumes on paper (since I can't draw for my life) so that I can have reference pictures of all the characters when and if I eventually decided to cosplay them.

After a lot of discussion and a poll on DeviantArt + friends/family opinions we decided to name it Angels of Revolution (and not Revolutionary Angels like it used to be at the beginning).

And that project will come true X3 I'm going to cosplay every single one of them. It's going to take a long time, years actually since I have other cosplays to do, but I intend on doing it.

Right now we only have 2 characters 100% finished: Itachi and Hidan. We have some in process like Konan and Kisame but the others we didn't even start, we only have a base idea.

I was going o start the project with Hidan because honestly it's the easiest costume until now, specially the props, they're really simple. But I couldn't afford buying a wig, and since I already had Itachi's I opted by doing his first.

On AoR (acronym XD) Itachi represents 'Justice' and 'Free Will'. If you don't know the character you probably won't get the reason why we choose this, but if you do you'll understand easily. I'm not getting into detail about who he is, I'll just say that he had a rough life, full of hard choices and sacrifices. I think that out of all the things we could chose, Itachi would certainly fight for this.

About the clothing in general, there is a lot of black and some red. And textures like leather. There really isn't much to say honestly, you'll see the costume later in pictures.

The props are the most complicated part. All of the characters in AoR have wings, so I had to make Itachi's. They're black and smaller than Gothica's (thankfully) but they were still hard to do. Besides they have lots feathers >.< (I still haven't glued them all). There are more props, like earrings and a collar but I guess the most important one is the scale. At first I wanted something really elaborated, but then I eventually decided to go with a more simple style (but still mimicking the old fashion like this). Carolina says that even though the shape is simplier, there are a lot of details to look at... which I agree with.

I can't really say more things at the moment. I'm going to show pictures of parts of the costume and how I made the scale BEFORE the actual photoshoot. I'm sort of in love with the costume X3

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Now for updates... I'm doing also Itachi Christmas version for Kingpin's Xmas party XD But it's a simple costume. And yes I'll post pics later too.

I'm waiting for Kurapika's new wig to arrive (I finally bought a quality wig for him) and then I'll take pictures. In fact I have many costumes to take pics with. I just don't have time.

I've also started making my "Cosplays for 2012" list. I have some confirmed but most of them will be 'maybe'. I'll talk about that later too.

And that's all for now. Sorry for the GIGANTIC post without pictures. I promise I'll spam you with pics on the next post!!

Gothica

P.S.: I'm gonna change the blog's song soon.
